Songsalive!® is a non-profit organization dedicated to nurturing, supporting, educating and promoting songwriters and composers worldwide.Founded in 1997 by Gilli Moon and Roxanne Kiely, in Sydney Australia, Songsalive! is run by songwriters for songwriters. Established with now over 20 chapters around the world, and over 35 chapter coordinators, Songsalive! is run by volunteer songwriters for songwriters. Through our grassroots international efforts, we’ve put a stamp on what “global community” truly is and it’s the type of community that is definitely needed in this ever changing music business where songwriting can be a very isolating experience and career.

We provide a "home", a family, for songwriters and composers through our programs, resources, community and support, all focused on the art and business of songwriting. It acts as an epicentre, a heart of the international songwriting community and music markets, bridging the gaps, tapping songwriters into the pulse of the business and at the same time giving them and their music the support they deserve. Through Songsalive!, songs and songwriters can be accessed by the whole world and when the hunt is on, Songsalive! is a one-stop song shop!

Songsalive! gives life to songs, provides opportunities for collaboration, creates awareness about original music, promotes and educates through an amazing network of programs providing access between songwriters and music business professionals. Publishing companies, record companies, venues, managers, producers, schools and music associations are teaming up with us to create the chain of support and networking.

We run our own programs and events for songwriters, and also act as an umbrella, or a link in the chain, for songwriters to know and find out other events, resources and support centers for them, globally.

Some of our most popular Programs include, in most of our Chapter cities, our monthly songwriting critique Workshops (which include feedback on your music, a networking meeting and an industry speaker), performance Showcases and Writer Nights (to perform and be seen). For those not near a Chapter city, and for all our members, other programs include online song critiques and feedback, CD Sampler compilation (promoting songs to the music industry), Songcamps (co-writing retreats), a Touring Map (tour hop around the world), Songstudio (educational workshops on recording plus access to studios & producers), and Songshop (song pitches to film, TV and whoever's looking for a hit song).

Discussion and networking forums, plus great Articles and motivational tips by leading music business authors and celebrated songwriters, keeping our members juiced and oiled on their creative journey.  We provide opportunities and discounts from music industry Partners (music conference passes, music resources, writing programs, song competitions and more). Through our online Community, members can chat and discuss relevant music and songwriting topics through our 2 discussion lists eNotes (the biz) and Songchat (the music), plus through our Members Portal Forum, as well as our MySpace pages, all fostering interaction and promotion.

Of course, there's nothing better than real face to face interaction and our chapter programs and events provide "community" through monthly song critique workshops and performance showcases where songwriters, artists, the music industry and local fans come together to meet, collaborate and celebrate original music.
