Song Critique Workshops

Songsalive! holds workshops where songwriters gather to share their songs, gain feedback and develop relationships within the songwriting communities we have created around the world. The first half is solely dedicated to an in-the-round workshop where writers present one song each - either on tape, CD or live - followed by a guest speaker/industry discussion in the second half and plenty of time to talk and network.  Moderated by Robert Sturgess.

Perth Chapter Coordinator

Robert Sturgess started writing songs at 20, in the naive belief that this would be a great way to make a living… after all anyone can write a song can't they?    As the new Perth chapter coordinator, Roberts' ambition is to pass on to others what he has learned and believes that higher songwriting standards can only emerge when there's a strong community learning, growing and supporting songwriting as an art form. Stick your tongue out and taste the talent! Showcase your music and support our Songsalive! national and international live events and showcases presenting songwriters and artists of original music. Songsalive! also connects you to shows presented by other organizations. Showcases are conducted globally. The Songsalive! Showcases are the best industry secret, a great happening all around the world. Songsalive! Showcases are a very cozy, intimate and acoustic environment where media and music industry representatives often drop by to check out the latest talent.

ASONG launches in Australia

A new entity, ASONG (AUSTRALIAN SONGWRITERS OFFICIAL NATIONAL GROUP), has been created, which will act as an umbrella structure to build upon and extend the foundations laid down by the respective Australian songwriting member organisations, ASA (Australian Songwriters Association), Songsalive!, and SSA (The Songwriting Society of Australia). For the first time, Australian songwriters, will enjoy the benefits of having a unified,  group which, while comprising elements of its independent members, will connect songwriters in Australia like never before, and strengthen their voice in the music industry.
