Songsalive! Showcases are the best industry secret, a great happening all around the world. Songsalive! Showcases are a very cozy, intimate and acoustic environment where media and music industry representatives often drop by to check out the
latest talent. Showcase your music and support our Songsalive! national and international live events and showcases presenting songwriters and artists of original music. Showcases are conducted globally.

members only. Through this application you can apply to showcase for a
chapter showcase near you, plus join Songsalive! at the same time if you are not
already a member.
Songsalive! also connects you to shows presented by other organizations.
The structure of the Showcase for Artists
Our
chapter coordinator books the talent from our membership pool of amazing
songsalive! songwriters, from the local area or if traveling or on tour (Yes,
New York artists can book an LA Showcase!). Some are well-known celebrated
artists, others are fabulous up and coming artists we want to showcase because
they are worthy of exposure. The format of the showcase is determined by each
coordinator - sometimes we ask each songwriter perform 3 to 4 songs each within
our showcase time frame (up to about 6 or 7 artists per showcase.) Sometimes we
ask our artists to perform two or three song mini-sets in two rounds with an
intermission in the middle, sometimes we do in the round song circles. Other
times we have a band to close the night after several acoustic sets. When you
are confirmed for your showcase you will receive an email with the full
requirements for the show and any guidelines that are specific to that showcase
and the venue.
Criteria for performing at our showcases

Calibre of songwriting and range of material for performance. You must perform
your own original material. NO COVERS.

Calibre
of stage performance. You need to be a strong stage performer to be selected.
If you are only a songwriter, you are welcome to have someone else perform
your songs, as long as what we hear is the performer singing. We also ask that
you either perform on an instrument or have someone accompany you - Ipod's, CD
players, etc. do not represent a high calibre of stage performance for a live
show.

Ability to draw a crowd. Our Showcases are for you to invite your fans and
industry, and you must be able to bring a crowd. At least 3-5 people. We are
tracking this. Otherwise you may not be invited back.

Respect our venues. If it's an acoustic venue, you and your players need to be
sensitive to that. The venues have rules and we are guests, so please respect
the "house"!

We do not assign time slots or order of performance until the day of the
showcase. Please ask your guests to come from beginning to end. Also we have
full shows on a tight schedule and do not want artist's or their friends and
fans arriving or leaving in the middle of the show.

Respect your fellow
artists. You are required to show up at sound check before the show and to be
a prepared. This means that you will check in with the coordinator and the
tech person to make sure that you have what you require on stage to perform,
you will tune up, and you will perform your set within the time given and no
longer. Please be professional.

Respect Songsalive! We require that you do not perform any gigs during the
week before your Songsalive showcase and usually the week after within 50
miles of the showcase location. Although some allowances can be made by the
coodinator we will generally stick to this policy. This is to ensure that ours
is an event that will draw the interest of your fans. We go to great lengths
to promote the showcases to Songsalive! members, the public, and the industry
and we work hard to have the best possible venues so that you will shine. So
please return the love!

We do not allow recurring appearances in consecutive months nor do we promise
that you will be a regular. Each showcase is booked by the coordinator who
matches the best performers together to create a great show for the audience.
Every coordinator will do this differently. Please respect our hard working
team. Use the showcase application and do not try to shortcut by email or
phone.

There are two ways to apply to showcase as an artist. You must be a member to perform at our showcases.
